ANONYMOUS’S PERSONAL STORY

I was 50 when I had my first colonoscopy and they found I had Ulcerative Colitis. At 55 I had another and they found I had diverticulitis and IBS. At first it wasn’t too bad but after 6 months it has slowly been getting worse. This past week has been my worst, by far. The pain is unbearable and I’m constantly running to the restroom. Three days of this and it seemed to get a little better but I still have the abdominal pain, bloating, and diarrhea. I’m on medications and have beefed them up but it hasn’t helped a lot. The doctor says I’ve probably has it all my life and its just waited until my fifties to flare up. Thank you very much. This is not a pleasant problem at all. I don’t go anywhere and if I do I always find out where the nearest restroom is. And I don’t eat before going anywhere, this helps somewhat, but not good for me I know. Thank you for letting me tell my story and it helps to know that it is a very common problem; yet disheartening that there isn’t much that can be done for it.
